This policy explains what information Growdial collects when you use growdial.com — as a student, a teacher or a visitor — how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using the website you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account details: name, e-mail address, phone number (if you give it), your password (stored only as a one-way hash) and your role.
- Learning activity: courses you join, lessons and videos watched, quiz and assignment answers, certificates, and the messages and reviews you post.
- Payments: payments are handled by Razorpay. We receive the order and payment reference and the amount; we never see or store your card, UPI PIN or net-banking details.
- Teachers: profile and KYC documents, and the bank or UPI details used to pay out earnings.
- Live sessions: chat messages and reactions. Camera and microphone are used only during a live call you choose to join and are not recorded by us.
- Technical data: a session cookie that keeps you logged in, and basic logs (IP address, browser) used for security and for fixing errors.
2. How we use it
To run your account and courses, confirm payments and pay teachers, send the receipts, reminders and notifications you ask for, keep the platform safe (fraud and abuse prevention), answer support requests and improve the service. We do not sell your personal information.
3. YouTube API Services (teachers who connect their channel)
Teachers may connect their own YouTube channel so the platform can start and stop live streams for them. This feature uses YouTube API Services.
- What we access (only with your permission): your channel name, ID and picture, and the ability to create, start, end and update live broadcasts on your channel (title, description, thumbnail, tags) and to change the privacy of a recording after a live ends.
- What we do with it: only what you ask for when you press Go live or End live. We do not read your private videos, comments or analytics, and we do not use this data for advertising or share it with anyone else.
- What we store: your channel name and ID and the access credentials Google gives us, on our server, only for as long as your channel stays connected.
- Your control: disconnect at any time from Profile → YouTube channel → Disconnect (we then delete the stored credentials), or remove our access in your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Growdial's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. By connecting your channel you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service; see also the Google Privacy Policy.
4. Who we share information with
- Teachers see the name and e-mail of students enrolled in their courses, and your messages to them.
- Service providers that help us run the platform: payments (Razorpay), hosting, e-mail/WhatsApp messaging if switched on, and Google/YouTube for the feature above.
- Authorities, only when the law requires it.
5. How long we keep it
Account and learning records stay while your account is active. Live chat is deleted automatically after a set period (30 days unless the platform changes it). Payment and payout records are kept as long as accounting and tax rules require. You can ask us to delete your account and personal data; we will do so except for records we must keep by law.
6. Security
We use HTTPS, hashed passwords, login-attempt limits and access controls so that each person sees only their own data. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
7. Your choices
You can view and update your profile, ask for a copy or deletion of your data, switch off optional notifications, and disconnect third-party services (such as YouTube) at any time.
8. Children
The platform is meant for people aged 18 and over, or younger learners using it with a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect data from children without that consent.
9. Changes and contact
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app or by e-mail. Questions? Use the Support option inside your account.
